Tacoma Offense Explodes for 11 Runs to Back Evaniew’s Gem in 11-0 Win

LONGVIEW, Wash. – The Tacoma Titans defeated the Edmonds Tritons 11-0 in seven innings in Game 7 of the 2024 NWAC Baseball Championship to advance in the winner's bracket on Friday night at David Story Field.

The Titans offense broke out for 11 runs on 14 hits to run rule Edmonds. The offense was hot from the start as the first five batters had hits, leading to a three-run first. The big offensive outburst was plenty enough to back starting pitcher Isaac Evaniew, who threw a two-hit shutout. Despite a number of long innings in the dugout, Evaniew commanded the game as he allowed just two walks with four strikeouts.

Eight out of nine Tacoma hitters had hits in the game while four batters had a multi-hit game. Drew Johnson went 3-for-5 from the lead-off spot. Zion Williams went 3-for-5 with two RBI. Jeramiah Crain went 2-for-5 with two runs scored, three RBI and a two-run home run in the top of the seventh to put TCC over the needed runs for the run-rule.

With rain coming down throughout much of the game, the Tritons struggled pitching and defensively. Edmonds made three errors behind their pitchers.

Tacoma advances in the winner's bracket and will next play on Saturday in Game 11 at 5:35 p.m., playing the winner of Friday's finale between Linn-Benton and Everett. Edmonds falls to the loser's bracket and will face Lower Columbia in Game 9 at 11:05 a.m. on Saturday morning.
