Lane Shuts Down Hot Everett Offense in 5-1 Win to Become Last Undefeated Team in NWAC Tournament
LONGVIEW, Wash. - The Lane Titans stymied the red hot Everett offense 5-1 in the final winner's bracket matchup on Friday night in Game 11 of the 2026 NWAC Baseball Championship at David Story Field.
Featuring the final two undefeated teams in the tournament and two offenses rolling on all cylinders, it was the Lane pitching staff that stole the show on Saturday night. Starting pitcher Griffin Scott allowed just one run on five hits with seven strikeouts over six innings to earn his ninth win of the season. Sam Wilson came in and did the rest, not allowing a base runner over the final three innings with two strikeouts to record his seventh save.
Everett scored the first run in the top of the fourth as Lucas Coma singled home Davis Downer. From there it was all Titans as Trevor Devincenzi brought home Peyton Tyner with an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth to tie the score 1-1.
The Titans broke out for four runs in the sixth, started by a bases loaded wild pitch to bring home Donnie Morgan. Peyton Tyner, Friday's walk-off hero for Lane, drove in two more runs with a double. Devincenzi knocked in his second run of the game two batters later to cap the big four-run inning for the Titans.
Tyner and Devincenzi led the offense with two RBI each while Nolan Donivan had three hits. Coma and Kai Miller each had two hits for Everett. Dylan Hicks made the start for the Trojans and was effective over 4.1 innings, allowing one unearned run.
Lane will next play in Game 13 against South Region foe Linn-Benton at 4:05 p.m. The Titans have already guaranteed their spot on Championship Monday regardless of Sunday's result, but can give themselves two chances to claim the title with a win over LBCC. Everett will next play Lower Columbia on Sunday at noon in an elimination game.
